"Strong, light, cheap...pick any two".

This statement comes from the Bebop pedals website.

To me this is THE immutable rule of cycling equipment selection.

Apply the rule to, say....ah yes, Serotta. Apt, is it not?

Strong? Yes. Light? Yeeesish (?). Cheap? Er,..see the $5000 threshold thread. :argue:

Is there any cycling product to which this rule will not fit? :D

1. Enjoy your job
2. Make lots of money
3. Work within the law

Pick any two!

As for the 'strong, light, cheap' I think that may have originated in the mind of Keith Bontrager, at least in its application to bikes.

a slight riff from the advertising world...a client can have any two: fast, cheap or good.

I seem to remember a sophmore in college satisfying all three requirements of the ad world.
