Am I the only one who thinks Tom Boonen looks wierd on his bike?

most folks look gay when the pedals are at
3 and 9 atmo, especially when the power leg
is at the back. the elegance comes when the
gams are outstretched.

To my untrained and unsophisticated eye, he looks like a big dude on a frame 2 or 4 cm too small for him.
But, what do I know, I'm fat.

You are seeing the reason why he abandoned today. Look at the size of those legs! If I were Boonen, I'd forget about grand tours and just rule the Classics for the next ten years.

The Belgians pedal in a style with their seat low.
but Boonen looks like he's on a toy bicycle...

Boon looks gay, because he IS gay. Just kidding. I have seen at least two other pictures of him where he looks almost as bad as I do on my bike. Too short, or scrunched.

show us your pictures; let us decide atmo.

his saddle slipped once and his wattage went up; so he kept it low. atmo is correct imho-everyone looks gay in the 3 o'clock 9 o'clock position...particularly with a member of the same sex but i digress......
yeah; it looks weird but white bib shorts get all the ladies; as for those handlebars....mp.

if they'd fed it to the reds, both the '75 and the cold war would have been over a lot quicker

Shino, you don't look scrunched up at all. Nice and stretched out I say.

boonen rides a bike frame a lil' smaller than what would be the 'right' size.. so he looks funny ... it does work for him...

Boonen = Rik van Steenburgen IMO
... especially when the power leg
is at the back. ...
What does that mean? One leg much stronger than the other?

Fat Robert

all over
that frame won't fit properly until you're six two
then put a 150 stem on it and ride with your saddle an inch too low
start taking your growth pills now
shinomaster

no no....Mine is 56 cannondale center to top. His is likely 56cc. My frame is about a 54cc.

then you only have to grow three more inches instead of six
get on it

his bike isn't a 56. its an xl time. it has a 58cm top tube and a 193mm headtube. it's not a small bike. he's just a big guy and how far apart are you going to put 700c wheels anyway?

i thought that was kind of wack when i read it...what do a bunch of french cycling journalists know, anyway....
shino needs to eat more and grow three inches anyway
Of all the Tour riders I saw a few weeks back, only Magnus could compare to Boonen in size and overall massiveness. He is one large fella', and scary powerful looking too. When I saw him interviewed he was as affable and decent off camera as he was on...and standing next to virtually any other rider, he looked huge...but they looked tiny. It's amazing how small most of these guys are and how fit, fast, and powerful. Boonen's bike, which I think I have a photo of (I'll look), was big but he still towered over it. It looked like an obtuse fit: tall saddle, giant drop to the bars, no nonsense racer. Just my two cents from standing there lookin'.

Then he need a longer stem.
