then their Ti, Kium, steel or whatever other material is used counterparts?

Is it marketing hype? Just about weight? Or is there something more to it?

As always, thank you all in advance!

Steve

PS: if it matters, it would be a carbon railed Romin vs it's Ti counterpart

IMO, no. CF is about frequency transmission and saddle rails are about the flex built in by the maker. Even if science says yes, my senses can't tell, and I am a big fan of CF.

i have aliante's with metal and carbon rails (both with carbon shell, however), no difference in comfort whatsoever. i only have one or the other based on what was presented on classifieds or on sale. if you get carbon, make sure your post clamp thingie can support the bigger rails.

Thank you all for saving me some big $$$! Hopefully this ties into the millionaire thread somehow...:hello:

Can buy 2.2 Ti railed saddles for the price of 1 carbon railed version.

Thanks again!!!

Not imo, and the need for special seatpost clamps makes them even more useless, again imo.

I've never noticed any benefit or difference with carbon rails. Except that some of them creak, so there's that difference.:D With ti or steel rails there's just nothing to think or worry about. And as you said, Steve, much more affordable!

No difference in ride IMO but I have broken a few ti/ kium rail saddles but never a carbon.

No. They're just lighter.
