OK. Looking for a new bike and have a few options. This is giving me sleepless nights thinking about this decision as it seems like a lot to take in and keep going back and forth between the below mentioned bikes.

To give backround. Coming off a Dogma 2 SR11 Bora 50 tubs. Loved the bike, super rigid and yet comfy. Due a couple hammer rides during the week and solo mind clearing rides on the weekends. Oh and the size was a 51.5 . Now the bikes I am deciding on.

I know these posts are highly subjective but honestly need some help from anyone that has ridden any of these and can also use some sleep.

THanks in advance and feel free to ask questions.

Cheers!

That green Colnago is by far the most exciting one visually of those bikes. Looks toxic!
Basso takes 2nd place .)
tw: all those prices seem cheap, do they have 58s too .)

No losers there, imo. Which one calls out to you? I'm assuming you don't get to ride any of them first?

Something about that basso is enticing.

I do not get to ride any of them. The C60 reached out to me but looks beat up and don't care the paint scheme that much. But always wanted to try a C60.

The Basso drop scares me. But he is including 2 forks and 3 stems with that comfort kit.

I like the campy build of the wilier. A good friend rides one and it is scary light, but the color scheme of that one is meh to me.

I've always liked the v1r, even though it isn't a basement build.

Tough decisions.

Yes I am a Campy fan but looking to try out etap. Don't care for Di2. I totally understand the V1R "basement build"

The Wilier is as it sits well minus that bag 14lbs on the dime.

You have no idea the decision. haha This is my only bike so means a lot. If I get the Wilier I will have some change left over to get a MTB so IDK.

Assuming it fits, I'd go with the green Colnago. Looks great, and eTap is truly a game-changer.

Judging on looks alone, the Nags look hideous, strangley drawn to the Basso. Willier I like everything but the frame and wheels.

I say first Colnago (silvery one). mainly because it's less ghastly looking than the green one, to me. but if you like the color, I'd say green one; eTap and FFWD tubs trumps DA9000 and C24's for me. looks like it wants to go fast.

Ok I thought about it nad have it all worked out for you:

Buy the wilier and etap it, then sell the campy bits to me.

It's a win win and will be stupid light.

"Do I want to the really hot blond with big boobs or the really hot brunette with big boobs or the really hot redhead with big boobs....." Killla life choices! JK brah, I'm just jealous....

I would be inclined to try the eTap and or the Willier plus more bike choices in fat tire form.

The usual formula is n+1, but in this special situation, the correct formula is n+4.

The C60 rides differently than a Pinarello. My impression is that it does not beat you up as much, but feels very race like as you put more effort out. Very confident on downhills. I prefer it to the ride of the F8. I have never ridden the VR1, but it is a beautiful bike too. Sorry I can't comment on your other choices.

Between those 4...The Basso is also eTap, right? If eTap is what calls to you, then I'd choose the Colnago as it looks to have the option of going mechanical/wired if so desired by a future owner. You can always sell any of these later and try something else, and there don't appear to be any losers on the list. I'd personally go with the Wilier for one to save some shekels for other things, for the campy build, and it is no doubt a better looking bike than the drab picture shows.

Alright, since you ask....none of those 4 and yes, I don't have any direct experience with any of them. To me personally, most if not all the plastic bikes I ever had, more or less feel the same...well, maybe with a few subtle differences. If you are really looking for a totally different experience, then I would recommend looking into getting a different purpose Ti or Steel bike. It's not the material, I get that...but it is. I have a go-fast Cyfac carbon bike, a steel serotta, a classic steel Merckx, a custom steel and a Merlin Ti cross bike. Any of the first four on the list can easily fulfill the following requirement for me: "a couple hammer rides during the week and solo mind clearing rides on the weekends." But I choose which one I want to take out based on my mood, fancy, and the kind of "feel" I want to get during the ride and they all different and yet give me an enjoyable ride.

Can totally relate and I did send the guy a PM on here selling the Firefly but I haven't heard back from him.

The hard part is that they all reach out to me. Was hoping people would say C60, VR1, zero 7 are garbage get the Basso. You know what I mean.

Hopefully the night time crew that hops on the forum can throw some insight. I am defently taking everything people say about each bike and weighing it on my purchase which will be made with in a couple days.

Keep the info coming!

So much attention given to making a decision based on looks (?!?). Have you had the chance to ride any of these (or comparables)? I can understand the rationale to a point. I mean, we all want a bike with big boobs and all....

One other thing to consider...putting the money towards a different set of wheels/tires might transform your current ride.

Get the Firefly
Then the C60
Then the VR1
Then the Willier
Then the Basso

The C60 is actually made in Italy and the Firefly is made in the good 'ol US of A

All the other frames are mass produced in the exact same off shore Tiwanese factory that makes oven mitts, salsa and bike frames ... Just food for thought ....

I think you know what MY choice would be ...

A 52S V1R is a traditional 56, so doesn't fit like the others at all. That should be first in your mind.

Going with the Wilier. Buying it from the same guy I bought the Dogma from. Its a great price and I know the fit will be as good as the Dogma was. Stayed up last night looking through this post and reading reviews and watching videos. Seems like a great bike and never owned a 14lbs bike so should be exciting.

With that being said going to be posting in the classified a WTT the Super Record 11 compact crank for a standard as a heads up for anyone interested.

Cheers and enjoy the long weekend!

Oh the best part about buying the Wilier is that I have some funds left over to buy a MTB! So now the hunt for a MTB. But won't be as picky with a MTB.

Just had the opportunity to rent a V1R and loved it. Smooth ride, stiff and responsive. It was full Dura Ace (mechanical) carbon wheel setup so pretty dang light overall. Give it a try!

Yea the tough thing about the V1R is that rear brake. Seems like any modern width wheels will not fit unless brake is wide open and still at that under heavy toque it will rub. Great bike if you live in the a state where there are not many climbs but for New England just will not work. Plus this one was a little big for me.

Care to share a short version of the long story on the Wilier?

Told the guy with the V1R and Basso that I will be going with a Wilier as it seems a better fit for me. (Have not yet told the guy with the Wilier I was going to purchase, that was my next move after I notify the Basso, V1R guy) Out of know where he throws another bike at me (yes this is after the huge relief that I THOUGHT I had when I settled on the Wilier) a 2016 Canyon Ultimate CF SLX custom paint.

https://scontent.fzty1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t34.0-12/14627979_10154554261124544_1464854183_n.jpg?oh=c10 a689891626f61ab49dc9f4d4cc2db&oe=57FE4F46.

Amazing price which did not help the Wilier's case. Great bike, would fit me perfectly and why not try out a Canyon. Well when we were settling on payment he received a phone call from his buddy that he wants to purchase the Canyon frame for the price I was buying the complete bike for. I was bummed but of course don't blame him for taking that deal, after all I told him he has to take that deal. Talk back and forth (bummed at this point but still carrying on) he is a great guy. Throws this at me

https://scontent.fzty1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t34.0-12/14445616_10154509442519544_693214025_n.jpg?oh=e047 30b836001d9de14600d16d3ab3e2&oe=57FE7119

Always wanted a DeRosa, looking up geo.... It's too big :(

He gives me a little test, tells me has a special bike that would fit me perfectly. Tells me to go research Dario Pegoretti report back to him what I think. Of course I already know who he is etc we chat about Dario and the craft for about an hours time. Drops this on me. https://scontent.fzty1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t34.0-12/14620015_10154555472104544_1556875926_n.jpg?oh=8a2 4d9d3855dd2baa47771e977cf4ca8&oe=57FEB173

My jaw hits the floor. Of course purchase it on the spot and it is in route to me. Bike is basically NOS build, Record 10 Ti not a scratch or blemish on the frame. Getting packed as we speak. Can't wait till my 1st ride. Have never road a steal bike. Reviewed Dario's work as any other cycling enthusiast has in the past and told myself one day I will have as chance to ride one. Never thought it would come this soon. I can't even look at other bikes now. Ride report to follow.
