Considering a project that will fit discs and 135 QR rear. Need something medium or with a 56cm effective top tube. 73 degree STA seems the norm. Any suggestions for something with 72 STA? Kind of specific because I need the setback with a Brooks. Thanks.

It looks like the Soma Double Cross is close at 72.5. From what I've seen the slack is usually in the head tube.

It's been a while, I still have the Gunnar Crosshairs that I use for a gravel bike now. It still sports the coffee and donut carrying rack bag.

That was some damn good coffee and donuts...

The double cross has a pretty long effective top tube, so the 56cm i actually 57.6cm effective. I like a slacker seat tube too and when I was looking couldn't see anything slacker than 73 except from Rivendell (of course no discs).

Find an old disc Lemond Poprad?

The Open U.P. uses a slacker seat angle since it's designed around a straight post. Thru axle and pricey, though. You can get a nice custom frame for pretty cheap these days. Thought about that option?

Thanks all. I am liking the looks of the Diamondback Haanjo but don't see frame/fork option.

This post always comes up but the 26mm setback is only marginally longer than most setback posts (20-25mm). How can it really make that much of a difference?

I was actually wondering about the 1 deg difference in STA as well. How much of a difference does that make?

Just under a centimeter, give or take. That's what I use as a general rule. So a 1 degree steeper seat tube would require a post with 1 centimeter more setback to keep the saddle in the same position relative to the bottom bracket.

Got one in a 55cm if anyone's looking. ;)

Thus my suggestion of the VO post -- 32mm setback.
