Now that we have that out of the way...which is your favorite Merckx paint scheme?

I go Telekom because I love the splash of pink and they seem comparatively rare.

Merckx had so many great paint schemes. I've had 7-Eleven, Motorola, and Telekom. However, Kelme, Domo Frites, and Tutti Frutti are my favorites.

I had a Merckx Profrsssional which had a red fade into pearl back in to red scheme. Loved that, it was a bit too small and didn't love that so it's sadly gone

Really surprised at the love for tutti frutti...probably not just my least favorite Merckx scheme, but one of my least favorite schemes ever to grace a bicycle.

The Kelme is awesome! Can't believe i forgot about that one.

The Telekom paint scheme I had on my MX Leader was my favorite...of any bike I have owned. You had to see it up close to appreciate it. Pearl metallic flake, gold-trimmed letters, hot pink & black. And I use the bike as a tool, without much care for aesthetics. So for me to ooh and ahh is a big deal.

Saw this on eBay.de and was curious whether this was a one-off custom paint job.
After some search I found out that steel-vintage.com, interestingly enough also in Germany, has one for sale as well.
They claim it was in the 1993 EM catalog but Google only returns references back to steel-vintage.

I've got to say my favourite is Vlaanderen. Had a Corsa 01 in this and sold it to fund the purchase of my EMX7 - regretted ever since, despite loving the EMX7. Big part of that is the great ride of the Corsa 01 but the paint job is equal parts horrendous and awesome - not mutually exclusive!

No matter what, love Merckx paint jobs from the various eras. I don't think this post topic could ever be trite!:)
