Deda stems are 82 degrees. Is this considered a - 12 stem or a minus - 8 ?

Would the appearance of these stems look more "parallel" to the ground that a 80 degree stem?

Thanks!

its a +/- 8

it would be less "level" than an 80 (+/- 10) stem.

That's a -8 stem. That'll slope up more than a -10.

It's a -12 only in the world where a right angle is 94d. And that's a world in which I don't want to live. ;)

Just to note, the Deda Magic is an 80 degree stem, though last I looked they listed it as 82 degrees on the US site, which is after I corrected them once, they thanked me and fixed the site. I guess it'll be my secret.

I wonder if all their stems are 80 degree, instead? Because I have a friend that had the same problem with a Newton stem....

Now, the stem I have been checking out is their new Zero100, as seen in cyclingnews.com:

I wonder if those will be 80 as well?

The Newton is definitely an 80d stem.

Newtons come in 82d and 86d for the 31.7. Also 82d for the 26.0. I have not seen but there may be other angles as well.

I stand corrected. The Newton I have is 82d. I was comparing it to a WCS, but it turns out to be 84d.

Why can't they all just be 73d like God intended?

Deda also has an 86 degree (+/- 4 degrees) stem thats one of my favorites, although not that readily available. Jeff N.
