Is there any issue fitting a 10spd Shimano mtn cassette onto a 10spd Shimano road hub?

Nope. On the hub, no problem. The derailuer may not like the larger cogs but as far as the hubs go, no issue.

Awesome! Thanks. I'm looking to try a 1x setup using the Gevenalle gx shifters and an XT shadow plus RD, but the hubs I have on hand are 130mm road.

Just be sure your derailuer is of the 9 speed variety. 10 speed mountain dosent match 10 speed road. 9 speed mountain works fine with 10 speed road.

Microshift makes 10spd mtb compatible bar ends. That is what is used on the GX shifters mentioned by the OP. I've debated a similar setup on a cross frame.

If its the standard 9/10 speed hub, don't slide the 1mm spacer on the hub with a 10-sp mtb cassette, unlike the 10-sp road cassette - which should have the 1mm spacer installed.

And mentioned above, be sure you are using a 9-sp shadow derailleur (not a 10-sp).

No.

As stated, the GX shifters he is looking at are 10spd dyna-sys compatible.

Oops, I missed that. You are correct.
