As a build comes together, I can't forget about small parts!

Got a preferred front derailleur clamp? (28.6, Campy, FWIW)

If you are looking for silver, pleased with my Origin 8, clean and stable.

Parlee makes carbon ones. Some people have complained of slippage but I have two in place that haven't budged. They send some two sided tape with them but I ditched that and just used some finish line carbon paste on the inside and a drop of clear nail polish on the lower edge front and back after installation.

I am not thrilled with the Omni Racer because the clamp bolt is behind the seat tube robbing precious tire clearance (I am building up a 650B conversions)

I am a big fan of clamps that work, hold the derailuer and dont spontaneously combust while riding.

Problem Solvers makes some really decent parts.

I second the problem solvers in you need silver although everything is hard to find in a 28.6 without using shims. Depending on the other components, the campy clamp matches of cours.
As long as you are using mechanical and not electronic, the parlee can really be worth the money. It doesnt dig into the paint or if you overtighten, crimp the tube. Its a tiny hassle to setup but once on Ive never had an issue.
Also if you have a low bottle cage mount on the seat tube it is thin enough not to interfere

I didn't think Campy did a 28.6 anymore? Or at least I can't find one.

For anyone with the Parlee... Is it actually worth the money? I have no doubt it is excellent, and I find it appealing, but oof!

You need to be careful on some of them. I had one (SRAM?) that I had to dremel off a lot of metal so that I had access to the small ring. On others, my Campy front mech was too far back, creating a larger gap between the cage and the chainring the farther back you got.

Use the one specific to the derailleur you're using.

Worth the money? No but that didn't stop me from getting one for my Crumpton.

SRAM makes I nice one.........just need some black paint to cover the sram logo. Works well with Campy 10 fd.

Campag doesn't offer 28.6 any longer. This is your 10spd build correct? You can swap mounts on the later 8spd through 10spd front derailleurs. If you want perfection, find one of these 28.6 derailleurs and swap the clamp. Don't worry about model or color, it's the same part and all clamps are silver.

28.6 record 10. Yummy.

I have had exactly one front derailleur clamp fail in service, and it was a Campagnolo. Broke at the hinge.

If I could find a Campagnolo clamp in 28.6 I'd be sold! For some reason I'm super not into running an adapter - maybe I just need to get over that?

IRD, because it looks like it's the old Shimano 28.6 casting.

But I've got at least one of these and it's quite good:

I was actually looking at the Mr. Controls - a few available in silver. Not jazzed on the long shipping from Taiwain though! Couldn't see any domestic resellers.

Shipping from Taiwan/China can be surprisingly fast.

True. I ordered some brake pad extenders on 9/12 and got them the next day on 9/13. Fedex. Shipping was very reasonable at $7.50

I ordered a crank pinch bolt from a shop 30 miles away. It hasn't gotten here in 9 days.

Sachs made one BITD that used the same bolt to secure the FD to the clamp and pinch the clamp to the seat tube. Very clean.

K-edge makes one that incorporates one of their chain catchers, but I think I've only seen it in 31.8, so you'd have to shim it. As far as shims go, the FSA one is pretty unobtrusive regardless of which adapter you end up with.

I also have an extra bonus 28.6 parlee adapter which I don't need. If anyone needs one...
