I need some help gauging interest in color change kits for campy groups. I have been kicking around the idea of making vinyl decal kits that go over the top of the red portion on campagnolo’s components to change the color to better match your bikes paint scheme. The decals would sit on top of the clear coat so that would be able to be changes out multiple times or put back to stock without damage to the original color. I have put together a rendering to demonstrate the idea.

For those of you interested it would be helpful to know the following to see if it is worth going forward.

What group? Chorus, Record or SR

Which generation? 2013/14 or 2015/16

Color?

Campagnolo always does stuff like that, the old campagnolo record went unchanged pretty much for decades till they came up with other stuff back in the mid 80's.

If you look at it, why fix it when it is working just fine? If your group works why to get a new one? Well campagnolo did some changes like in 2015 in the RD and FD, Shimano on the other hand every year comes with noticeable changes, good changes? some of them sucks, other ones are good but from shimano you can expect noticeable changes in color and performance from year to year.

It is necesary for shimano? IMO no but they need to show to the market they actually worked in something. The other thing is that is well known that R&D for japanese industries (generalizing here sorry) is low compared with other parts of the world so they can spend the money researching useless changes.

Part of the reason why I'm looking and buying the chorus 11 group is that i dont care for the red parts of the record and super record groups. Many times i have stopped myself from buying sr 11 groups because of the red accents.

So i guess I'm a potential customer for the white out kit .)

Would you change the colors of a Michaelangelo to match the sofa it hung above?

If it were a comfortable couch, yes.

this is exactly why I went C11 on my vanilla (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=101347). the red accents would not work and at the time, the white label SR11 was no longer available.

My OCD would NEVER allow me to be happy with how I put the sticker on.

Please let me know details about how to go about this. I want to change the color throughout my record/super record gruppo.

I could definitely be convinced into something like this. I know several other folks who would be, too.

Definitely following this to see what happens!

I'd buy them. Not a huge fan of the red, although it doesn't clash with my current bike.

I'm "forced" to buy SR to get the Ti bits, otherwise I get corrosion on the standard Campy SS bits living close to the ocean.

With the rain today I finally had some free time.

I still have a few adjustments to make on some of the parts but overall I am happy with the results.

I will run some in more colors shortly.

The pre 15 SR kit is done. I will have some photos of a blue kit installed on a nice serotta legend in just over a week.

I like my version.

But that is pretty darn cool to offer those. Those Enve blackout decals were very nice.
