What is it? The old Carnacs fell apart, the shop sold me a pair of Sidis. Notable is that when the cleats are flat on the table, the heel of the Carnacs were at least one and a half inches higher in the air. That should make no difference, pedals are on a spindle, right? The first ride on the Sidis was the last ride of last week... below.

Last week ended up being a 300 mile week with the last day 100 miles at a conversational pace. Three days off: visiting family Sunday, hungover Monday, T-storms Tuesday.

The last three rides have been stupid fast. The first one, OK, fresh after resting. The second one, I actually tried to go fast - run every hill, push every flat. This morning? I relaxed, or so I thought. Apparently my relaxed pace is my old kill myself pace. The job has been a little nuts this week, so if Oreos, candy bars and pizza are training food I'm a monkey's uncle.

It's gotta be the shoes.
