What do you guys think of this faema merckx? I've never seen one with the guides on the headtube and without the logo on the tops of the seat stays. In retrospect, I should have taken an overall picture to show you guys but I forgot. If that helps, let me know and I'll throw up another.

could you elaborate on semi-fastback and non-capped seat stays?

Isn't that what those last-chance lugged Corsa OS frames looked like, the ones made with the Dedacciai tubing, lugs, dt shifter bosses, the little cable guide rings on the head tube, no seatstay caps? I think those were available with the some team finishes, so it might be legit.

What is pictured in your frame is semi fastback (not quite fully in back of your seat lug but close), and non-capped.

Here is a fastback seatstay (fully behind the seat lug)...see red frame below

Here is a capped and non-fastback seat stay....see white frame below

Possibly a 753 tubed Merckx.

Very legit.

hm, how would you know?

I suspect it's a Corsa 0.1 but need picture of full frame and top of BB to make better determination (seeking tapered seattube at BB junction). Definitely not a 753 Grand Prix frame as the headtube cable guides were introduced in later model frames. More pics?

Yeah, that's it: Corsa 0.1. I had one for a while in Molteni livery. Oddly enough, at that time it was still pretty easy to get a custom steel frame from Merckx; mine had a custom top tube length, a threaded steerer, and deleted the little cable guide rings, no charge. Decent bike; fantastic value.

this is an 01? i thought those had oversized tubing and this feels pretty standard in my hand, though to be fair i've been riding an oversized bike as my daily for a while. either way, came back to post more pictures as requested, sorry they're kinda ****ty.

fwiw...corsa 01 has oversized DT and should have full fastback seatstays.

yes, that's a corsa 01...depending on the year it's made of either Columbus Thron or Dedaccai-01. DT is slightly OS, fast-back seatstays, deeper/OS chainstays, cable-loops on the lower HT lug, etc, etc. you'll also find that the rear brake-bridge runs "low" putting the caliper quite close to the tyre if you're running 25s or bigger rubber.

I have a Strada O.S. that looks just like that.

didn't the Corsa 0.1 frames use the tapered downtubes, where they diameter increased at the bb? and/or were the seat tubes ovalized at the bb shell? I can't recall and don't have any pics of the frame I had.

i'm an idiot, it says strada o.s. on the other side. then again, the model wasn't my question, the legitimacy was :)

DT not tapered, just a continuous OS diameter. seat-tube is not ovalized, either.

Came here to post what everybody has already said. It looks just like my Corsa-01 made of Dedacciai Zero Uno (hence the 01 designation...) oversized tubing. The downtube on mine is ovalized at the BB and the seat tube is a constant diameter.

The EM name on the rear brake bridge looks off to me, but what do I know.
