I'm looking for a transport wheelchair for my dad. Thing is that I'd love to have one that has pneumatic tires, maybe 12" tires or even 16" tires. The little wheels are so rough/bumpy, based on my short time in a wheelchair a few years ago.

Folding, lighter weight would be nice for my back (<30 lbs better than <50 lbs). Max patient weight not an issue (my dad is under 120 lbs and going lower quickly and steadily).

Any ideas/thoughts/recommendations? Even a good website for wheelchairs?

I know nothing about wheelchairs but i know this guy makes some seriously nice ones. He also made or rather had bicycle frames made before which is why i know him.

He uses a wheelchair himself so id think he knows what makes a good wheelchair.

Surely one has to have a titanium wheelchair right? Hmm 2nd thought what is a transport wheelchair? Is that only for pushing someone along? then perhaps these are bit overkill..

haha those are nice ones!

Yes, transport wheelchair is for someone to be pushed in, means brakes are up by the handle so the caretaker can lock the brakes.

Looking for something that's aluminum, folding, bigger tires (instead of the shopping cart ones). Ideally 12" tires minimum but it seems that I'm lucky to find a 12" solid tire in the back with shopping cart wheels up front. I want the monster truck version of a transport wheelchair, four 16" tires or similar.
