It takes a Huret Jubilee rear derailleur – has anyone used one successfully with a more modern set up/more gears?

Perhaps obvious but just want to make sure I will need a British threaded BB and headset for this bike? Are they hard to find?

I need to attach the head badge back on, I dont think they make small rivets like that anymore, maybe double sided tape and brass nail heads glued in?

I want to go cruiser with this thing, leather saddle and leather grips, what else can I leather?

If you do ultimately go with a Jubilee rear derailleur, be aware that Huret made them in both Huret and Campag dropout styles. Be a bugger to lay out big bux for derailleur and discover it has the Campag stop...

yeah those jubilees are not cheap, I sold one with a missing mounting bolt for a nice sum of money. They are super cool though, I kind of wanted to keep it just as a display piece

This is what I did with an old pinarello years ago...

Get SS tiny screws and the tap for them and use that to attach the badge.

That's a great paint job. You did it?

Wow. That is nice for a first time! Did you do the lettering and striping too? ( I assume so).

Nice job. Love that green. Looks like a nice dark British racing green too. Classy.

Well done! That green is killer. Are the decals from cyclemondo?

Thanks y’all, I actually have the Jubilee already it is currently serving as a weight on my veather veener...http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=188191&page=4

This is the original derailleur to the bike. What I want to do is use it with a grip shifter? Is that even possible? Plus wheel size might be an issue, the rear spread is 123mm. I would really like 8 speeds in the rear with a grip shifter and a single up front.

Mounting the head badge, thanks, so would those have Philips head screw patterns on the heads? I read somewhere else that drive screws are also an option.

I did indeed paint it myself, I took a frame painting class. I wanted to get my hands on the real deal materials and see if I can actually do it. The whole spray can thing is just meh, do it right or don’t do it at all I figure. I like it, I like it a lot. It is much much harder than I thought, my respect for frame painters has grown exponentially recently, actually that goes for frame builders and in general all craftsmen in the cycling industry. Here's to you guys  There are some very nasty chemicals involved, I hope in the future they create some environmentally/human safe materials. We shouldn’t have to risk our lives by creating something beautiful. As my guru said "cycling is a healthy pursuit, no reason to risk ones health in pursuit of a healthy endeavor" - words of wisdom.

I got the decals from another source, I opted for the higher end decals without the vinyl. All I have to say about decals is they are a huge pain in the butt. I painted a second frame which is more interesting I would like to share with y'all, unfortunately I still don’t have the decals and I want to complete it before sharing. Anyone know a reliable source for non vinyl/ink decals? I made some custom made vector art for this project ready to go! :help:

One of the things I noticed with this project is the shoddy build quality of these old Raleighs, sloppy as heck. Compared to some of the drool worthy custom frames we see today. Still I love this bike, it has been staring at me for many many years. It took a long time to bring it back to life, but I am glad I did.:)
