Do I have to disassembly any of the rear thumb shifter assembly to be able to remove/ swap out the shifter paddle?
It's not coming out very easily after removing the screw and the barrel.

It is easier to send it to old potato. I had all the parts but I still sent it off.

It might come down to that. If I wasn't north of the border, I probably would have done that to begin with.
I've reassembled but the lever isn't going back to home position and I don't hear a nice ratcheting sound. Pretty sure I put everything back in order and right direction.
Learning good but was hoping to get this done in a few hours.

Problem solved. Front gear off by 90 degrees.

Not really..you can the front shift guts off w/o taking the rear off but getting the spring that centers the shift lever blade back in the slot, with all the guts on the center shaft 'may' be a challenge.
