Spent a good hour in their fabulous shop yesterday while in Boulder for the buffalo classic.
Aaron Barcheck is the founder/owner/welder and just a really cool guy. As laid back as any member of the republic, he has a very enthusiastic love of his craft and it was fun watching him describe the "how to weld titanium" process to a bunch of newbies.
I really admire how someone so young can make such a huge investment to become a custom bike builder. The materials, the equipment, the whole cost of the operation, even in a Small shop like this, is really something that shows a huge commitment to the craft.
I don't have any pictures of the rest of his crew, but they were very accommodating letting us ask any questions and peek into all parts of the shop.
Quick turnaround, (4-6weeks) small but growing network of dealers and really cool custom bikes for those that want to pony up.
All custom deminsions, English threaded bb, king, shimano, Enve forks were the norm, but all is customizable to the owners needs.
