I hope it's not geoblocked for our friends south of the border.

to my surprise, it's not geo-blocked!

i was watching it on Eurosport, but there was no commentary. Otoh, 200 km of commentary for a race that's exciting for only the last 5k or so; i feel for the commentators.

Great broadcast. We spent a week there last year, had our bikes, so did some of those climbs... but much more slowly... ;)

Guess the Olympic MTB "vacation" didn't do him any harm...

impressive win; too bad Uran couldn't pull it off...

damn, as much as i like GvA, i do feel a bit for Sagan. Dude was left doing a lot of work: bridging gaps on Camillien-Houde, chasing on the run-in to polytechnique, chasing toward the finishline. He got stuck on the front for a good 50 seconds going into the U-turn and still had it to finish 2nd.

Canny riding by GvA

That's the reason why I don't even care to mention GvA in the same sentence with P.S. The latter is operating at a totally different league.

not quite. a racer does what he can to tilt things in his favor; it's up to his competition to prevent it from happening.

By the same token that you chastise GvA, I would say you would need to chastise Sagan if he were the winner as he obviously was able to sit on somewhat while Rui Costa was out there on his own.

Actually, you should chastise Sagan for obviously wheelsucking his way to victory on Friday as he didn't do the work to bring back Uran but obviously benefited from it.
