Now that I'm doing more path riding, this was a pleasant surprise to see.

Recently installed along one of the local paved paths... all the tools you'd likely need, and air as well. And designed to be a bike repair stand, too.

That's pretty awesome. I've never seen that before

Similar setups have been set up around Long Beach. Did not take long for the gang-bangers to cut off all of the tools.

Yeah, they put a few of those along the river here. Pretty cool.
We dont have gang bangers though.

Pumps are usually first to break, letting air out of your tube instead.

We got one just like it at our bike shelter and I used the pump all the time for inflating my commuter bike. So far, they have stayed operational without issue maybe because it's inside the shelter that you need a card access to get to instead of being out in the open.

why the hell would they do that? just to be mischievous i suppose?

i remember when a big thing was to steal cadillac hood ornaments and wear them as necklaces for "street status". are these dudes wearing allen keys around their necks to prove what bad asses they are? haha

Maybe Cadillac emblems are held on with Allen keys now?

I have not seen any designed to be a bike stand as well as have the tools. That's really neat!

They just put in a couple on the Pinellas Trail in the Clearwater/Tarpon Springs area (West Coast FL). Real nice for emergencies or for all the rec riders that user the trail. That one from the OP looks like a swiss army knife full of tools. :)
