Further to my WTB ad, I am wondering who has used Mavics new cheap disc wheels? I need Campy compatible ones, so that is where the difficulty lies.

eBaumann uses them and calls them 'boat anchors' but other than that, are they good or bad? I just want durable, cheap wheels for commuting on in the wet PNW winter.

I wish I could use DT350s, but I think it might be out of my price range for this need.

Thanks for any advice.

Fulcrum (Campag) has a cheap disc wheel. It think it's called the sport db. Similar construction to their great bargain rim brake wheels. Seems like a no brainier here :)

Oh, tee is also a cx version for a bit more. I would spring for those if the intent is wet weather.

yes, I like Fulcrum too, but I couldn't find Campy FHB ones anywhere. I only saw Shimano 11 compatible, which normally would be great, but I am a Luddite using 10spd Centaur on my commuter.

If you can pinpoint a Campy version, let me know - I'd prefer those over Mavic.

Odd, I didn't notice that. Same story for the fulcrum 5 db. I would pull the parts book and see if the freehub is the same as the rim brake modes. If so, it should be an easy swap. You could probably trade.

Campag options must be weeks away as well:

Really easy to swap the FH body to Campag 9/10/11s..

I have two sets and yes they are boats

But are solid wheels as my wife and myself use them for training wheels.

Very serviceable, cheap and cross compatible as you can set swap a campy freehub on the thing. But if your kit is 11 Spd, don't bother as I'm sure you know 11 is 11 is 11 these days.
