one of my favourite youtube channels is a fellow using his hydraulic press to squish things. He has a second channel, where he does similar silliness but with other things.
So, he hooked together a Lathe with a spinning disc, versus a fixed caliper... and spun!

It's a super fun video to watch, and frankly, I have a huge amount of faith in my discs now that I've watched this. I won't ruin anything but there's fun action throughout the video.
