Wheel sound when shifting

Picked up a new set of wheels from a local forum member, White Industries T11 laced to Pacenti rims. Beautiful set up.

I have noticed that shifting is much louder than on other sets on the same bike. Is it due to the sound resonating in the wider rim?

I have a set of Pacenti SL23s laced to Chris King Classic hubs and a section no set with SL22s laced to DA 7800 hubs. In comparing them to other wheels I can't tell any audible difference in the sound resulting from shifting.
