Ever heard of a Pinarello Giovo (www.ebay.com/itm/311674954518)? I haven't.

Looks like it might possibly be a pretty nice frame. Anyone here had any experience with them?

I know Pinarello, and other Italians (Cinelli for one) tried breaking into MTBs a long while back. Many of them were sourced from Gary Fisher as I recall. I've seen a decent number of other Pinarello MTBs around...there's been one regularly on our CL that hasn't sold for $300. Usually they're only valuable when adorned with those goofy campy MTB parts.

I don't have any knowledge about this particular frame/model.

Given that it's a restoration, I don't know how you'd even establish it's really a Pinarello (barring factory confirmation); I don't see any clear indicators in the frame.

EDIT:

Found photos of the one that was showing up on our CL:

Encountered some of fhat kind of stuff over the years, most of it was pretty off in one way or another as it wasn't really their thing. Rode a colnago branded contraption for a while many years ago. The softride beam bike that followed it was much better

Buy it and build it up with one of Campagnolo's ill-fated MTB groups like Euclid or Icarus.

I'm thinking not... might be less than satisfying, might be bogus, out of the country so it's a problem if anything turned out uncool, and in the meantime I've found a nice-looking vintage Ibis locally for less money.

Oboyoboy, more wheelbuilding.

My friend has some newer modern Pinna XC bike. He actually hacked up a 10s Di2 kit for it.

Record OR baby..first 'micro-drive'..with the small ring being a lockring secured, cassette cog..great stuff. Heavy but ignoring Bullet shifters, it worked well. BUT OE/shimano killed it along with Suntour.
