Apparently two of the Bouygues Télécom cars have GPS units and transponders hooked up to the Routefocus fleet tracking system. By downloading the Routefocus software here (http://www.routefocus.com/) and using Google Earth you can follow the BT cars throughout the race.
Sounds kind of neat. I haven't tried it, but saw it mentioned on the France2 cycling forum (http://forums.france2.fr/france2/cyclisme/liste_sujet-1.htm).
Aside: It's amazing how often LA comes up, even today. Gone, but not forgotten. Another favorite topic: complaining about the TV commentators.
