Reputable Bike Shop in San Francisco

I'm traveling out to San Francisco in September to do a cycling event. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my bike to SF. One thought is to ship my bike to a shop ahead of me. I was wondering is there a good/trusting bike shop in the Union Square part of town where I could ship my bike? If not the Union Square area, someplace close?
