I know it's late in the season to be asking this, but are there any paceliners here that know of some good road races and/or crit series in the Raleigh-Durham area?

Moved to Durham for grad school a year ago and haven't had much luck finding anything. I know the collegiate racing is decent, but I've got a young family so between that and school I don't have much time to travel around for the collegiate races. Interested more in finding a weekly crit series or occasional weekend road race. Any info would be much appreciated!

(Also interested in finding a fast group ride in the area, if anyone knows of any) :)

Tons of great stuff, including race prep group rides.

I'd recommend starting here:

How far can you drive on a weeknight?

Wednesday night crits available in Burlington (Ace Speedway), on Tuesday night a little further is Kernersville (Herbalife/Maui Jim Crit Series), further still Winston-Salem (Dixie Classic Fairgrounds Crit Series).

All in the Triad area but great series and lots of fun.

EDIT: Giordana Crossroads Classic this week/weekend as well - crits in Statesville (I think) tonight, Asheboro tomorrow, Salisbury Sunday...

Thanks for all the info. I had come across most of those races by doing some googling, but unfortunately I think they're a little too far of a drive for me on most weeknights.

Maybe I can make the Burlington crits work though...looks like a fun series!

Check out the P ride in Chapel Hill Sat AM. I hear it's a pretty good one ;)

There is one is Salisbury on Sunday I might go to:

It's part of a series down there. You have come to a good area for bike racing. There is a very competitive cyclocross series here too.
