I hope this doesn't break any forum rules but there are people on here who know more about Merckx frames than I do. Does this look legit and like good value? The colour wouldn't be my first choice but I could live with it (or get it resprayed). I'd swap out the 8 speed for Ultegra 6500.

It's an oldie, but yes, I'd say it's legit.

Legit and decent deal, imho.

One of the many Merckx that have passed through my garage over the years was exactly that same paint scheme.

Nice.

Definitely legit.

Looks like my Merckx Professional SLX. I believe the groupset is Dura Ace 7410 not 7400. Very difficult to find new (Shimano) bottom bracket if you need one.

Bike looks legit to me and my size.

Phil Wood makes the correct 103 BB for that crank.

Decent but not amazing deal. Components not in great shape so even though you are going to swap over to Ultegra you might not get much by selling off the parts. Note that shipping to Australia will run you $220USD and could take 3-5 weeks. For that much $ you mightj be better off looking at bare frames - less expensive and also cheaper to ship.

But, yeah, looks legit. They are great riding frames.

Early 80s SL frame. One bottle boss and older decals/fonts. Under BB guide a plus. Nice frame.

If you want it, be my guest. After putting on my accountant's hat on I think I'm going to pass on this one. As much as I'd love a "real" Merckx the honest truth is that I don't need another bike.

Yes; that’s a 100% genuine Merckx Corsa Extra in Team TeVe-Blad colour scheme. Merckx drop outs, fork crown, seat stay caps, etc all present. Assume is an earlier model with the older EM emblem and produced without the chromed RH chain stay or front/rear fork ends.

I have a Corsa SL in the exact same colour scheme (albeit in Columbus SL tubing) and can only say the ride is sublime. Not quite as “snappy” as one of my MX Leaders or Corsa 01 but these two frames were from a slightly later era.

The price is about right IMO.

Yikes..... and in my size.

Admittedly i haven't googled yet it but any idea which team used this colour scheme? Thank goodness this is way beyond my budget... and TBH in this colour scheme would have to kept as wall art anyway.

Yeah, I was really just musing since I don't often see bikes that I would want in sizes I can work with. I doubt my accountant would approve as well.
