I found this this (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=74682) discussion from several years ago regarding bib repair. I have a friend who just tore his favorite bibs, and was curious if anyone has any recent experience getting their bibs repaired.

Thanks in advance.

I needed new leg grippers put into my team kits a couple years back. The Champion Systems sizing doesn't work for me - OK fit everywhere else had leg bands that were far too tight for my liking. I wanted the stock elastic leg grippers removed and a piece 1-2" longer put in for a more comfortable fit. I sent them to this guy in CA:

http://www.kucharik.com/

He did a great job, charged a fair price, and turned them around quickly. I sent one pair in at first to see how it would come out, loved the final product and followed it up with 2 more pairs.

He also does full chamois replacements and other mods. Stitching stretchy fabric is tough to do, and my experience suggests he has the tools, materials, and knowhow to do it right. I would not hesitate to send more stuff his way if I needed more repairs.

man, i'd forgotten all about the bibs I'd had chamois replacements done in... (that's what happens when you stop riding a lot, I suppose)

But yes, I was happy with Kucharik for that as well!

I have some Pace bibs & shorts that the grippers wore out. I never heard back from the independent repair places that I emailed several times (including one mentioned above). I emailed Pace, and they fixed them both for small $ and had them back within the week, east to west coast and visa versa. Might be worth am email to the maker of the shorts to inquire about repairing them.

I used these guys to repair 2 pairs of bibs:

They did a phenomenal job. Just mailed them off and received them back a few weeks later. They patched a huge hole on the right side of my team bibs (huge tear from a crash), and the actual patching and sewing job was 100% better than the job/materials that my local seamstress did previously on the exact same bibs.

I will be using them for every kit job from now on...

I've been trying to find someone to alter the straps in a pair of bibs. I contacted on the people listed here and never received a response. Glad to see there are other options and I'll be contacting them.

Edit: I just contacted mountainsoles and they responded within 5 minutes asking for pictures of the bib straps!
