i'm going to install a few of these racks tonight:

do you guys have thoughts on how to keep the front wheel straight while stored?

Flikstand?

Or, you could just go low-tech with some Velcro straps between rim and downtube:

Park HBH-2 (https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-HBH-2-Handle-Holder/dp/B000QSXPL2) works as well.

That's what I use. Great for working on the bike, too.

Honesty I would just use an old toe clip strap. Vintage, cool, and you probably already have some. Around front tire/rim to downtube.

Ooops, I take it back.
I didn't realize that you would be storing multiple bikes.
You only need one Park.

Yes, something like that is fine.

Or even those velcro AV/etc. cable straps. Cheap, fast, effective. Pick three.

I use two-sided velcro - hook on one side, loop on the other. I bought a roll of 50 feet or so at the hardware store and just cut to length. About 10" length needed for holding the ft. wheel around the down tube.

I also used velcro on my bike this weekend to secure a second water bottle to the top tube on my old Basso Gap (which has just one set of bosses). It worked really well.

I use rod straps that are supposed to be used to wrap fishing rods when not is use. I have some from Shimano and Pline. They are neoprene so easy on the finish and Velcro closed. They are cheap and readily available on eBay. Like these

They work great

I sew my own wheel straps. Velcro hook and loop; add D-rings and stitch.

Low tech......bungee cord.

...or rubber band hooked from valve stem then around down tube and back to valve stem.

Low tech......bungee cord.

yup.. I bought a plastic container full of these red bungee loop-and-ball things, and use them for keeping the wheel straight, as well as strapping crampons to my pack and all sorts of other ****.

Bungees are the solution to many of life's simple problems

Those bungees with the ball on the end work great.
