My race tubulars are Dugast Typhoons, which have a gum colored sidewall. They take in water apparently so the norm is to paint the sidewalls with aqua seal. It was my first time with these tires and I don't think I did a very good job with the sealant. Now a year later they look like :crap: :crap: :crap:. There is dirt in there, they're peeling near the rim, etc.

Is it possible to strip the aqua seal and re-do the work? Or am I SOL until I need a new set of tires?

They look like this image I found, but worse:

I used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on my Bruce Gordons last night. Worked surprisingly well to clean off rain stains.

I don't know if whitewall tire cleaner would work, but I've used Spray N Wash and similar bleach based cleaners with good results. Perhaps reach out to the distributor of manufacturer for suggestions.

automotive spray tire cleaner?

spray it on, either wipe away or let it sit. should work well.
