A good opportunity for storm chasing in Tornado Alley.

I hate starting out in the rain, but I love getting caught in the rain.

Turns out it was the perfect day to ride! I don't mind riding in the rain, but we rarely get just a gentle shower. I really don't want to ride in any more hailstorms than I have to.

Did you post your ride on strava? I'd like to give it Kudos ;) :) :D

But seriously, that bike looks really sharp with those tan-wall tires. I really need to put some on my bike. And that is, imo, the best looking crank set I've seen.

Well thank you! I am enjoying the heck out of this seven and the corsa's have been an excellent tread. I am not a fan of the new crank arm design, so finding this bike with unused campy record for essentially the price of the group set alone was a definite selling point. The compact is not that necessary around here, but it will come in handy this sept in Colorado.:)

No strava. No, really, no strava. Closest thing to strava I have is a couple of strava labeled phone/gear ziplock bags from a fondo ride a ways back. I ride with a simple hr strap and mapmyride in my back pocket.

I'm already self-conscious enough about my riding, I don't think I want to share that with the masses. I ride for me and am perfectly good at beating myself up in regards to my performance.

I don't mind the rain but the lightning and hail aren't my friends.

Nice flat day on RAGBRAI with a tailwind, clouds and 75 degrees the entire way. Rode with my dad and my son. It was a perfect day.

Around here, that kind of weather comes with lots of lighting. Let that hit your nut sack, since you are a nice target for a strike. AND if you ride steel, you are ALSO sitting on a lightning rod. Even steel spokes are a nice attractor.

I have been super lucky this month. I am just about over with my ride everyday thing I started on the first. Only two days were wet and those days I rode inside.

I did get caught in the rain on a ride I did with a friend one day but that was a short 15 mile deal. It was really hard rain and kind of fun. I don’t like to ride my bikes in the rain since I am a bit of a clean freak.

When I get home from a wet ride I hit the bike with the hose and clean everything off before it dries. Then I hand the bike so it can drain out the seat tube. I guess it would be cool to have a TI or maybe an aluminum beater to just go play in the rain.

Some of my best (read: epic) memories on a bike happened in a rain or during a storm. Don't take it off your schedule completely.
