Hincapie - ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Now who was picking on him today? Interesting to see who he blames this one on.

hard to figure him out. looked reasonably strong today. no teamates? no one willing to work with him? or not strong enough or savvy enough? but all the favorites got smoked today. strange race.

Well...its the kind of race that can hapen in a Classic -- sort of like the '88 Flanders, actually...the favorites mark each other *and* they're not quite at their best that day, so a lot of negative racing develops, and some talented second-liners make the winning break.

As for George, it was another Sunday at work -- he makes the big effort, looks around, and wonders why no one will help (well, Lotto had two in the break with him...and one up the road...doh).... Someday he'll win Roubaix, on one of those days like '98 or '94 or '01 when its awful and one guy makes the right move, because its hard enough and sloppy enough to negate tactics, except for one moment when.....

I suspect George banked on JM getting to the finish in the lead, and just chose to stay with that group.
