K Edge XL Mount Question

What is the purpose of these two little screws on the bottom?

I would guess that the two screws serve that function.

Assuming you are referring to the arm, it looks to me like they went back to the original concept where the arm can be adjusted/replaced, probably to accommodate different lengths of the head unit with one size/style mount.
