In nearly our own American backyards, there is something happening that I believe is close to Pure Sport. I think that it shares more in character with early Tours de France than what is happening over there right now, which is interesting for its own character as well. It's the Great Divide Race. There are no helicopter cams to capture the action, the updates aren't scheduled, and it seems to me to be like the 2000s "short attention" version of waiting for a top 3 or 10 TdF GC results listing on the sports page of a pre-80s U.S. newspaper.

Most of you probably already know about this, but I haven't seen it mentioned yet here, and maybe there are a few who haven't checked it out. It's been very enjoyable to me for the past week to be checking on this at least daily.

I really admire Kent. In my mind he's the real deal as far as a definition of a cyclist. He rode last years race on a single speed. Here's a link
