I've read many complaints about pressfit bb noise. Colnago has a different approach to pressfit and I'm curious if anyone has experienced or heard of any issues with the C60 bb. btw.. I realize it's replaceable.

Thanks !

...as with any press fit cups, use of Loctite 609 primer/activator, is a must.

FYI Campagnolo recently upgraded their press fit instructions to include Loctite 609:

I have had mine since October 2015. No BB issues. Wonderful bike.

Is there any press-fit BB that doesn't make noise?

I went on a retro mtb ride this past weekend all the bikes were mid-level MTBs that were over 20 years old. Of the dozen bikes there, NONE of them were making BB noise! Go to any ride or race with a dozen month-old $6000 carbon MTBs with press-fit BBs most of them will be making noise.

I'll take a thread-in BB any day.

...the question is how many of those $6000 new carbon frames had their press fit BBs Properly installed using Loctite 609 or stronger??

Colnago C60 basically has a threaded bottom bracket. From Competitive Cyclist:

"The C60 has a new bottom bracket type, the ThreadFit 82.5, which improves on the ease and simplicity of press fit bottom brackets by eliminating the creaking typically associated with them. The frame itself has a steel sleeve built-in to the bottom bracket, which an aluminum shell screws into. Since machining makes these pieces more precise than even the most refined carbon construction methods can, this essentially eliminates the microscopic imperfections in the crank/frame interface that can cause creaking over time. The aluminum insert is also replaceable in this system, so it can be replaced as it begins to wear, keeping your bottom bracket pristine for years to come."

NOPE....the two alum sleeves thread into steel insert. The sleeves provide the shell for BB86 press fit cups to be installed (with Loctite 609 or stronger, of course). Threaded BB cups will not fit.

I didn't say BSA or Italian threaded :) I guess it is a hybrid BB...

I have not had an issue with my C60. Colnago's solution was to use a metal sleve thats threads into the BB . By using metal the specs are more tight than carbon fiber and therfore it prevents the squeaks.

I actually thought the noice were more common on metal frames. That said im very pleased with my 30mm campy crank with their pf30 cups on a ti frame. Installed with both primer n loctite its completely silent!
