My brother has a custom rack welded. The downside to his, it is crazy heavy.

I saw quite a few cool vertical racks last time I went to Moab.

I found this one online

I would like to be able to hang a fat bike (100mm wide rim), 29 plus (50mm wide rim), and a tandem co-motion road bike.

Most of the time, we would haul standard road and mtn bikes, kids bikes.

Thanks for any ideas and recommendations.

You can hang a tandem vertically? Wow.

No experience with the linked rack, but I have a Softride hitch mount rack that holds 3 bikes and does the tilt thing. Quality product.

Check these guys out they have some crazy racks for recumbent trikes and all kind of cycles....http://hitchrider.com/

Prices are not cheap and a basic roof rack can pretty much handle anything, with some modification.

I had a Draftmaster http://atoc.com/draftmastermain.php which carried our tandem and 4 solo bikes, though you can get the rack with different combos. Our Draftmaster was secure, would easily move out of the way when we needed access to the rear of the car and surprisingly easy to mount the bikes.

I have long considered the ATOC Draftmaster the best in the class of racks you are talking about. Modular, so it can adapt to all your needs.
