View Full Version : Paceline socks anyone?

I know we just finished the fiasco with the headset cap shipping, and I might regret doing this, and I certainly need my head examined, but here goes.

I've been thinking about doing a round of Paceline socks next. Ultimately we'll end up with a full wardrobe of Paceline gear :hello: No idea on the design yet, but likely they would go along with one of the cycling caps. I've researched custom cycling sock companies and they are all similar pricing and minimums. It would take 10 dozen pairs sold to meet minimums for virtually all of them.

As of now:
No idea on final pricing.
No idea on timeline.
No idea on final design.
So don't ask.

I'd be down, but I'm pretty much sold on SmartWool.

if they are wool blend yes, not interested in full synthetic.

prefer a banana or something, less interested if it says paceline on it. (dont like my socks to have messaging/branding on them)

I like the tallish sockguy wool blend socks a lot.

I dig Paceline community stuff. I really like the caps (wearing the crap out of mine) and the headset caps.

Socks I could dig, but as others have noted, I am very partial to wool or wool-esque socks. Not sure about knee-high lengths, but that is to be determined.

Thanks again for the effort. If you need assistance, such as it could be from a distance, let me know.

Mike

Then it's unlikely, since I still prefer the shorter length and and you guys are such posers that you want taller. ;) (Kidding, but I'd expect everyone to want taller than I would)

"I like the tallish sockguy wool blend socks a lot."

+1 for sock guy wool blend socks.

Would like an XL size (US 13 / Euro 47) if possible.

I'm not a hardcore Paceliner like the rest of you, but I always need socks.

I like my cap. I like my jersey. I going to say I'd be in for some socks too.

I like smartwool, but I like Darn Tough better. Both are wool, but the D-T are thinner and just as durable.

A few years back, Michelin had some promotional socks that were pretty good. I still have those, spiffy design. Last fall, I picked up some Mavic socks in France. They are cool in that they are shaped, and marked, for the left and right foot. There is a bright yellow band above the ankle, otherwise they are subdued.

Anyway, good idea.

Would love some paceline socks. Wool would be a bit of a downer. Swamp foot here in florida with my wool socks...

Something like the 4" Swiftwick in different colors with yellow banana, thin as possible. That's what keeps my feet happy, others may differ.

Someone get me a contact at Smart wool or Swiftwick and I'll talk to them.

Otherwise I have a vendor who does great work. They have wool and wool blend at good prices and high quality.

I say go with your vendor. Pass the work to someone you know. Your judgement has always been good and the products are superb. Even your castoffs are awesome.
