With all the Specialized love on this board, I'm guessing there has been little urgency to the keyboard by folks to do a Google search :p

Better venting, a bit more aero, if it has the great fit of the prevail.....winner!

It appears that Specialized has taken a really good helmet and made it even better. Given that I love my Prevail, I might be hard pressed not to buy one. Yes, this new helmet is a prospective winner.

Does anyone with an in know when these helmets will be available in NA? I smashed my Kask and need a new helmet. May hold out for these but I find it strange there hasn't been a peep about them since the first week. There's pricing out for the UK apparently..

Sounds like fall from this:

Called the bike shop and they quoted Sept as an arrival date. I managed to score a deal on a Kask again otherwise I would be waiting for these.
To each their own, I actually find the helmet not bad looking.

from some angles it looks decent from other angles it looks hideous.that kask protone is a decent looking lid if I was in the market for an aero helmet but I don't think they vent as well as some of the other less aero helmets so that would limit the use for the area I live in.currently using a prevail.which I thought was ugly when they first came out

It definitely takes some aero cues from the Airnet. The slimmer, taller looking, rounder profile. Not bad. I think with all new helmets, the more you see them out there, the more they start to look good.
The Protone was weird when I first saw it, but then the Paul Smith gradient version came out and it sold me, along with the white.
That said, I use a Giro Synthe, and I love the clean lines. I've always wondered why helmets had the crazy swoops and upturns and tails, when everything else is meant to look sleek and minimal. When aero-style helmets started coming around, it felt like everybody thought they were really strange. But if you're into motorcycles or cars, this sort of aesthetic shouldn't be surprising.
