I've got a hybrid bike I may end up going SRAM 1x on.. Might just change out the X5 9spd for something better and keep the crank. Since this is my first time "building" major components on a bike I need help identifying my BB.

Looks like a standard BSA/English 68mm threaded BB.
You have square taper cartridge something now... there are different spindle lengths on the BBs. You have to pull the cranks to measure the spindle, some BBs have a sticker on the cartridge shell that says the size. Otherwise a bike shop can tell you.
You can switch out for anything that is English threaded (Sram, Shimano, Chris King, etc)

Meant to add that you might not need to change anything on the BB/crank except the chainring. One Up and others usually either have little spacers or the ring is thicker at the bolt holes to give proper chainline.

So the 2nd pic shows the "teeth" inside signifying it's a "threaded"?

I've got a great LBS down the road and I've spent plenty w. them so they said they would check it out for me.

Thanks for the tips invertedhog!

Yes, the teeth engage splines on the tool used to install or remove the cups by screwing them in or out of the shell.
However that frame is also compatible with external bearing bottom brackets e.g. Shimano Hollowtech II, which looks quite different.

For info if you get a tool to take out The BB. Right hand cup left threaded( righty-loosey), left hand cup correct threaded, lefty loosey. Take LH cup out first.
