I am pleasantly surprised that I am able to easily fit Pave 27’s on it with a few MM on each side.
I am sure I get get a 28 no problem but wondered which 28’s measure pretty true. I know some tires (continental?) measure wide.
Which tires measure a true 26-28 that you guys run?

Compass 28s (Chinook Pass, they call them) fit comfortably in my CRL, which presumably has the same amount of room as your CSI.
They measure 28.4mm on TB-14 rims.

Ah, good question -- I forgot about that.

An F1 fork will have a very very hard time fitting a 28.

Continental GP 4000s 28 on 23mm wide rim run about 30mm wide. I took my wheels off of my Lynksey and swapped them to my Serotta with a Reynolds Ouzo Pro fork. I didn't think they would fit, and the front is way too tight, but the back might work.
Just FYI in case someone was wondering.

It has a steel fork that looks good for a 30mm.:hello:

Mine has a 02 fork and can only fit 25s. The steel fork should accommodate at least a 28, but not sure about the clearance at the chain stays. I just run evo corsa cx on mine.

I would like to try these. They are a bit spendy though.

I had heard that before. I guess a 25 would be a better choice with that tire.

I had thought that Serotta designed bikes around a 23mm but I am clearly misinformed. I am happy about being wrong.

Clement LGGs run very true to size on non-wide rims (my 28s measure right at 28mm). Great tires that can be had for less than some other options.

True but you do get what you pay for.

Yeah I might try them. Are they 2x better than veloflex?

I have some clement tires on my commuter that I have been very happy with. I may try some for my CSI

They did. Room for a 23 with a nice gap. Usually the limiting factor is the height of the brake bridge not the clearance at the stays.
