Record or NR?

I have a NOS 70's Campy headset, 1" threaded, in a cream colored box with world championship stripes. The box says Record but the parts themselves don't say one way or the other. Does anyone know how to tell whether it's Record or NR?

Record and NR are essentially the same thing for headsets and BBs from that period. Cups, crown race, top nut, and washer should be steel. If they're aluminum, they'll be SR.

The top race on SR is also drilled with six holes where it fits into the headtube.

Didn't the cream colored boxes continue into the C Record era? That headset has four wrench flats instead of six, IIRC.

Correct. The C Record version had 4 sided flats.

The cream colored boxes were for record/Nuovo Record...Super Record got blue boxes...and C-Record got white boxes...
