Like a dropper post on an MTB? I tool free adjust my seatpost about 20 times a ride on my MTB. It doesn't have detents, it is infinitely variable.

This one in question probably weighs less, but beyond that????

I asked Zinn if Nibali uses this like a dropper post. It would be a big advantage on descents.
I wonder if this is the next big thing for road. I would love to have a dropper post going down GMR or any big descent.

with the 1mm detents and relatively narrow range of adjustment, it seems more relevant to adjustments wanted when ascending the cols.

I asked Zinn if Nibali uses this like a dropper post. It would be a big advantage on descents.Nibali is a demon of a descender, so maybe it helps him. but he's also at the front of affairs many times when he's descending, and I've never seen him reach down to his crotch and start twisting...

this thing is cool, but I don't think I'd need to in-ride adjust my saddle height ever. would be cool if they incorporated the idea into an ISP topper or something though.

Cool idea.
It is FSA though so it likely weighs a ton and dosent work as well as others. (If there are any others)

Who wants to twist a barrel adjuster when they can just push a button? Wireless dropper seatpost coming to your road bike soon!

with a motor???

Don't worry, it won't hang around long. Too much can go wrong.

If that thing behaves anything like the microphone stand clutch adjusters that it appears identical to, it won't last a season.

Is that some sort of metalized finish on the CF frame? I really like the looks of it. Is it available to meer mortals?

the style is called "cromovelato" and was originally a (fragile) translucent lacquer applied over a fully chromed frame. no idea how they do it on a plastic bike w/o chrome.

I don't know about Nibali's bike in particular, but this makes a lot of sense for racing teams. The team car can't hold enough bikes for every rider to have a spare bike available. A quickly adjustable seatpost would allow spare bike to be used by several riders, with the seat height able to be fine-tuned while riding after a bike change.

(Disclaimer: I think this is a cool topic, but when I read the thread title this is what I thought of immediately.)
