What do you guys use?

Polar and Camel Back Podium bottles are my favorite. Insulated FTW!

I think the hip folks are moving towards stainless and/or bigger. You also have the bottle can guys, or rocking just one cause aero!
I like the camelbak mouthpiece design. Can't seem to keep the insulated podiums from getting "lost"? I have 3 standard camelbak bottles that stick around. If you want something flashy, chances are specialized makes the bottle and the company produced the art work. Wonder if silca has something from that one guy?

Personally, I recommend these:

Yup, Camelbak all day- that is if you like your drinks mildly cold anyway. Hot days here in Sacramento, CA and my non-Camelbak drinks feel like hot in 30 minutes

Agreed. I have some Rapha and some enve that look cool, but this time of year, the insulated podiums are king. I only get another 30 min extra ice time as hot as it is, but it is worth it, imo.

I have them, they are good. The only bottles that are totally chemically safe plastics.
They are Elite bottle sized, a tad smaller than camelbak's. They hold just about the same amount.

I like the tops of the camelbak's better but these are nice.

give me any bottle with the specialized fixy cap. I buy a lot of special edition bottles or frame maker bottles or whatever it looks cool and is not too expensive. I have a few bottles with the fixy cap and going to buy some caps to try to replace all my bottles with em

It's a bottle. For water. I use whatever, but draw the line at the really crappy give-away-participant-bag things.

Any decent bottle, preferably with graphics from something/someone I like.

Preference for insulated Camelbak bottles for warm/hot weather and standard Camelbak for mild/cool weather.

Anything which got thrown to the side of the road at the TDU.
My only stipulation: must have the softer rubber nipple. These do.

I bought a couple of Elite bottles recently. They make a biodegradable one out of corn based plastic. I got that as well as an insulated metal bottle. Works well in keeping water cold/ cool.

I like the fact that they have a wide mouth for ice cubes and a relatively easy to disassemble spout so I can do a thorough cleaning to keep crud from forming.

They have good geometry for pulling out of the cage with a good grip.

I believe the metal one came with a plastic cover for the spout but I threw that out.

I see they also make one now that is insulated using cork. Maybe I'll try that out as a replacement for my Camelbak podium bottle which I was never crazy about.

They come in pretty snazzy graphics.

I like cool water bottles. The ones I bought this year were both Specialized Purist. I got a yellow/black r. sachs water bottle at the Philadelphia show and a fake "starbucks" bottle from Joe's Bike Shop in Baltimore.

As others noted: no smell, easy to clean, huge flow rate. Insulated bottle works better than Podium Chill, also softer to squeeze. Easy to close the valve by pushing, then open by biting and pulling. No spill valve, so I only do it before shaking the bottle. Podium requires a twist awkward to do with winter gloves on.

I live in AZ, so volume trumps all. This is one of the main reasons I don't use insulated bottles; the (mistaken?) impression that they hold less than an uninsulated bottle of the same size.
I almost never stop during a ride unless I have a mechanical. On long summer rides I'll carry as many as 4 water bottles. Two in the cages and two in my jersey pockets.

In the toasty sunshine state, I'm still happy using my boring Polar insulated bottles. I've been wanting to try the Camelbak insulated ones, and will give these a try the next time a buy a water bottle. If you do an Internet search of "polar vs camelbak insulated bottles", there are a number of links that come up on this topic.

They are somewhat lower volume due to the internal liner. I've used the Podiums for some time but the new (cheap) cages on my latest bike don't fit them so haven't bothered to used them. I'm due for new bottles however and probably new cages. Love the King SS I've had on my other bike <FOREVER>

I wanted "scuzzy" rather than snazzy. I even emailed camelbak once and suggests they make bottle that looked like they had mold inside them....so I could keep my daughter from stealing my bottles.

Borrowed from these genius ziplock bags:

Love my camelback insulated WB. Loathe my Cube insulated WB.

Recently started mountain biking with just a water bottle, holley molley this is a revelation. Less weight, lower center of gravity, much less sweat, more comfort, balance and control over the bike, oh yes and more speeeed! If I ever do have that very rare flat (tubeless and 35mm wide rims) I don’t mind risking having to hike it out. I ain’t scared of no bears!

Perhaps a crazy thought but with modern day carbon bikes, are we not riding very big potential water bottles? What if there was a water reservoir in our carbon frames? With a little straw in the TT to suck out of. A few benefits… you can hold way more water, more aero, no chances of loosing a bottle, cleaner look whats not to like? Calling it right now it will happen sooner or later, whether it will take or not is a different matter all together… I would be interested for sure.

The Abloc bottle holds about the same amount as a standard Camelbak Podium, as well as most standard bidons.

Dishwasher safe, and a squirt of water gets out anything that might be stuck in there. Honestly it never has been an issue in years of using them. I like them a lot and they are all I currently use.

Didn't see this before, yah thats what I am talking about. I would execute it differently, but they are on the right track. I am still miffed I missed out on those Camelback deals in Bed and Bath.

One problem though, winter time, water freezes - expands ti tube bye bye. Or are ti bike tubes stronger than our water pipes?
