I like Raphael gear, but Revelate bags (which probably make thos are 1/3 the price. Just rode across the Rockies with a Pika.

1/3 of the price? really? come on now

I love Revelate, great stuff, made in USA but stuff is expensive too.

the rapha handlebar bag is $130 and the revelate is $100.

the rapha saddle bag is $160 and the revelate is $130.

But thats apples to oranges since we should really be comparing apidura to revelate and the apidura bags, for better or worse are more expensive than the revelate. The rapha apiduras are a bit more than the non rapha but by very little but man, these actually look pretty nice. Much better than the apiduras which already look better than the revelates (which is what I have a really enjoy)

How many did they make?

No idea on how many they made. If it sold that fast, I am sure they will make more. The same thing happened to the bar tape.

I dig it! But I'll wait for the Raphas Super Pro Justice Team Aero Burrito Bag. Will pair up well with my super aero, weldedskin Catella jersey. Look fast, even when you're going slow!

Im sure this was a fairly limited "test" run to see what the response might be.

Wouldn't have guessed that there would be too much overlap between the rapha-crowd (that is to say those willing to pay a premium for the same thing in rapha styling) and bikepacking-crowd but maybe thats not the case...

Stuff looked nice for sure, just not really worth the upcharge IMO.

They should charged $200 for the bags.

So is there any difference besides the color scheme between the Raphia bag and the Apidura bag found elsewhere online for around $100.00?

I just took a look at my local RCC.. You are paying for the color scheme. Thats it.. I am an RCC member and in the market for bags..but I am not paying an extra 100 bucks. Besides I think the grey Apidura ones will look better on my brushed Ti frame.

Oh yeah thats 100 dollars less including shipping from UK

Is the moustache extra? Does it come with a college fund?

UKBrooklyn, what happened to the Merlin?

Sold the Merlin frame to another Paceliner.. Once you have a bike made to measure it's kind of hard to go backwards. Loved the Merlin but it was never my size and I was tired of waiting for something exotic to show up that would fit me.

Ergo the Indy Fab Ti CJ..

The Apidura stuff is really well made. Look at the Tour Divide and Trans Am race bikes or the Transcon in Europe. I have both Revelate and Apidura in the house right now. I like Revelate but the Apidura is far more technical.

I recently bought a Vischache for randonneuring and bikepacking. In my poorly informed opinion, it seems that they have upgraded the fabrics, maybe as a result of competition?

Relevate's products have always been made mostly from Dimension Polyant X Pac fabric. Apidura uses it too and their bag is very similar to Relevate's design with some tweeks borrowed from other bag manufacturers. Apidura is a new company with deep pockets and a good marketing department. They are far from being innovators in gear design.

The rapha bags appear to be on the apidura page also. I was able to place one in the cart and proceed to check out. Total shipped was £78 or about $112, so slightly cheaper the from rapha.
