Thinking about moving my Campy 11 group over to my gravelbike...and getting a newer campy group on the road bike. Know I've read some threads about how the pull of the Campy levers isn't awesome with HY/RD and Spyre...which would be my options. Additionally, what are folks using for top pull front der? I've got a CX 70 on there now.

Thoughts?

If UltraShift, use the CX-70....

Running Athena 11 with a top pull CX70 and Spyres no problems at all, love it.

A low cost but long lead time option for running your Campy 11 FD with top tube cable routing:

Speen Umlenker (http://www.speen.de/speen____SportsEquipmentEngineering/speen__store.html)

Only heard of one friend who bought and used one but he said it was flawless. Only gripe was the long ship time.

One thing to mention.

Do you have compressionless housing?

It makes all the difference.

+1 on the Speen, works like magic!

OT - but that is a cool fork. Looks like a surly? Any idea what model? Cool setup.

Near done with my 2016 Campy Chorus gravel bike build. Tons of research led me to two things:

- Compression less cable with Spyres. (Already mentioned)
- Shimano 32 rear cassette and hub

Fingers crossed... If it doesn't work out I figure I can wait for the hydro mechanical campy shifters to come to market. In terms of gearing, I've heard mention that a cleverly place washer on the rear deralliuer can also solve a lot of problems in terms of max cassette cog size.

Anyways.. Will let you know how it goes.

Chorus11 with the hy/rd on mine. Takes more work to setup than shimano but once its set, the braking is fine. The real question is how gravelly are your gravel rides?
The thumb lever was never second nature to me and on bumpy rutted fireroads it's getting to be a deal breaker.

and replaced with Spyres. Couldn't get enough lever pull with the SR levers. Spyres seem a much better match!!

I also used Spyres with SR levers, worked fine. Switched to Shimano hydro and they are much better. Lever hoods are absurdly long, though.

Which reminds me, I need to sell the Spyre calipers.

campy ergo 10spd with CX70 front mech and BB7 brakes. works just fine.

there are subtle pull mis-matches for both the ergo to front-mech and both brake levers to the BB7s means it takes a little extra time to get front shifting and braking @ both ends dialed, but once you're good...you're good.

I had Hy/Rd with campy 10spd levers and could never get the pull right.
