well.. i just got off the phone with my buddy who just left mauro gianetti's place. mauro and simoni had negotiated gibo's contract right there... in front of him with his camera's rolling.
what i heard was this (and take this with lots of grains of salt).... it's very possible that jan won't get to start the tour. that's the rumour going around the swiss alps.

this would bum me out tons. i'll keep sharing all the info and phone calls as long as you know it's all specualtion and rumour.

Yes, apparently the TdF org is examining evidence uncovered in the El Pais report. In addition, German press is reporting the Ullrich has floated the idea of submitting a blood sample for DNA testing, which (according to his lawyers) could prove that the blood samples found in Spain (and marked "Jan") were not actually his. As the world turns...

not that hard apparently. it merely requires a complete lack of integrity and honesty and regard for the future of elections in the us. if that shiit had taken place in iran our officials would be laughing at the whole thing and calling it a fraud.

Like one "needs" to have their own blood for doping! As long as the [doped] blood is compatible with the rider's blood it can be used for cheating!

What I mean is that the blood market "JAN" or whatever, doesn't have to be the rider's, it could be for the rider...

You bring up one of the most reprehensible forms of cheating I can think of. Doping at the amature level happens. It's sad and it pisses me off. I raced cat 3 for many years and we (my team) knew of or at least suspected more thana few people who had "help" from a little juice now and then.

It's bad enough in the pro European peloton but when you think about the stakes at these silly local uscf races it makes you wonder what planet these people come from.
