I need to clear out my garage, is it better to split the bikes and sell the components and frames separate or sell as complete bikes?

Depends on the bikes really. Usually parting out is more profitable, but it's also much more of a hassle. What is your time worth?

Bianchi, Daccordi and Merckx all with Record 10spd, although I would like to keep the Bianchi as its 1 of 200 made globally

^This. Do you have an ebay account in good standing and willing to pack and ship a complete bike or the frame and parts? If not then it's a local sale on CL for less $$.

I value my free time. It's hard to sell nice frames on CL for decent money, same for parts. Not so hard on ebay but give them and paypal their 13-14% all together. Do some research and pick a price for a local sale if you want easy.

Or you could even sell here but that involves packing and shipping. You need to chat with yourself about all the possibilities.

Absolutely better to part out a bike. You will most likely sell quicker and get more money.

Easiest way is a full bike on CL, cash deal, no packing and shipping, no fees and no hassle with returns and buyers remorse. I usually go this route first.

If it fails to sell on CL, than off to EBay as a full bike. I just don't want the hassle of taking off every part, cleaning them, taking pictures and listing each one. I guess I am just lazy and don't need to maximize my profits.

Post them here with dibs to the people that are like 100 miles away from you, in that way you dont have to deal with shipping.

I'd imagine there aren't too many forumites in Scotland...

Ebay with worldwide shipping for best profit, most hassle. Craigslist for medium hassle, medium profit. Forum for least hassle, probably decent profit.

Shoot did not see that... but in the UK you have ILGS IDFFLKHDSLK or whatever that site is right?

Havent seen the bikes but all depends of what it is and the condition of the items, that will give you an idea if its better sell the bike or part them out. but IMO probably you are better selling them as a whole bikes than in parts, but all depends.

London Fixed Gear Forum - That's where the troglodytes live :mad::mad: Makes Craigs List look intellectual. I've had stuff on there in the past and it's been a mare, most of the users have more fingers than teeth. I had wheels on there before C Record Hubs on Mavics for a sensible $200, I was offered $50. I put them on eBay and got $600 and the winner was the same guy who offered me $50 on LFGF and then said I should only accept the $200 I had initially put them up for. I think you can guess my response ;););)

list what you have and the market will help you decide. I know i need some campy 10 speed parts and wheels, and the right 54cm frame can always find a home...
