Front strap routing on Aeon helmet

Aeon helmet arrived today.
I noticed the two front straps running over the pad. Doesn't seem right.
The strap can't go under the pad because of the position of the velcro patch which is in the right place.
Did they just wind the strap the wrong way?

Anyone with an Aeon able to check theirs?

could it go under the plastic frame thing?Wouldn't fit the same. Over the pad is the design and it is just a little on the corners of mine.
