I'm half tempted to buy one of these framesets for some road/gravel riding.

However, I need confirmation of a couple of geometry bits; I've emailed Ritchey but not had a reply.

Is anyone able to confirm the chainstay length (says 425mm on the geom chart, but it looks longer) and also the fork axle/crown length?

Also; opinions/pics of the bike appreciated!

I have a canti version so i'm sure the Geo is Slightly different, but that bike rips. I would highly recommend it. I hope you find the answers you're looking for.

I don't have one, but have two bigger friends who sold theirs.

Feedback was consistent -- lovely bike, super plush. But under say 180+ pounds, got too noodly for them on anything other than rough terrain.

Now, these were both big bikes (58-60) under bigger guys.

Thanks for the replies; it certainly looks like a shredder. Just don't want to buy one unless I can figure out the bits above.

The flex is also interesting. I'd need the largest frame (although it looks very compact) as I'm about 190cm. I don't think I'd be pushing it too hard off road though.

What's the maximum tire width that a Swiss Cross can handle front and rear?

I wouldn't get to wound up about it. I think it's one of those frames that is great for cross because it moves. Same thing makes it less so for road sprints if you are big.

WTB 40mm tires on Stans Grail rims will fit front and rear on the Swiss Cross Disc. I've been running the 35mm WTB Cross Boss and there is plenty of room (and it's a great all-around tire)

I don't know the chainstay length but I can measure if that's a critical issue for you. Every measurement I took on my frame matched the geo chart, and there isn't a huge amount of room between the seattube and rear tire so I'd suggest the published measurement is correct.

Axle to crown is standard CX length at 395mm. The fork is a really nice with a smooth ride.

These frames are NOT stiff but are fantastic to ride. If you're a big dude wanting a super-stiff race frame this probably isn't it, but if you want a great all-around bike which is fun to ride they're worth looking at.

Here's a pretty crappy photo of mine. It's a 57cm with a 810mm saddle height, Di2 drivetrain, and a pair of Wheelworks Maker AllRoad wheels.

Roadbikereview.com has a subforum for Ritchey bikes, and a Ritchey rep responds to questions and threads there all of the time. I've got a Ritchey Breakaway Cross and can't say enough good things about it. Ritchey knows how to design bikes.
