I saw this on Velonews today - it compares Horner's recent Philly bike toss with a few memorable classics over the years:

I'm not sure that the team he is riding for has the budget for this kind of abuse.

Tyler Farrer did a very nice bike toss when the stage ended in Brussels. I was there about 350 meters from the finish but I didn't have video and frankly I was surprised by his throw e tough that I didn't take still images.

Heh.. that was fun.

The Millar one is the one that always sticks in my mind as a huge black eye for SRAM, deserved or not. ISTR lots of "SRAM chains suck" in the thread about that one.

That was great. Riis is definitely the gold standard. Kittel slammed it like a boss.

I don't know - this is the first that I have heard of the Philly races this year.

Horner seems to have won the bike throw by default. His water bottle kick was pretty awful.

The Riis toss is the one that I alway remember.

Kittel's Deutsche Über-Mensch 'roid rage crushing of that bike was painful to watch. Kind of like rock stars smashing "a perfectly good guitar" (can't recall whose lyrics).

Definitely picked last for schoolyard soccer... almost said that in my first post.

The vibrating rear carbon rim is cool in the horner toss. I can't seem to recognize the bike. Storck? Merckx?

The guy spend the whole day in a group at front, and the race/stage looks like fit him really well too, must be frustrating...

I am self-sponsored for my bikes. You won't find me pitching one over a barrier or into a ditch.

To be fair if he never played soccer it WAS his left foot. Lots of people look kind of silly trying to kick something with their left foot. (Lefty soccer player growing up, maybe it's improved as kids are so much better now but no one expected you to be able to use your left foot well back then... )

Merckx with spam, surprised the bike didn't do it itself:eek:

Ummm....it's obviously a statement about how he feels about lupus.

I saw the Horner video somewhere else a few days ago. Was he simply pissed at his inability to get his chain back on the ring? Or was something else wrong with the bike (before the toss, that is)?

Wiggins bike toss is so Wiggins....

Horner needs to learn how to kick.

He wasn't thinking about it, it was a spur of the moment thing. He's off balance and therefore wrong footed in cycling shoes. He's lucky he didn't end up on his arse.
