A friend of mine ordered a 2016 Cervelo S2. Website specs 5800 with a Rotor 2D crank and Rotor PF30 BB.
He's looking to swap out the crank to Ultegra 6800.

Can he use the Rotor PF30 BB with the 6800 crank or will he have to get a new BB?

Do you guys recommend changing the BB to something better?

ultegra is not a PF30 so he will need a new BB afaik. Wondering why he wants to swap the crank?

Is the Rotor 2D a good crank?

Isn't it a 3D crank?

Spec says 2D.
I'm having a hard time finding a Rotor 2D crank.

I don't know anything about Rotor products really.

Cervelo replied.
The 2D is a brand new offering from Rotor.

Thought Cervelo used the BBright standard, not BB30???

Either way...Wheels Mfg makes a heckuva adapting BB to run the Shimano cranks. I used the BB30 version on my C'dale and its a vast improvement.

Don't know anything about the pressfits.
In the features page on the Cervelo site, it mentions BBright but specs say PF30.

PF30 cups can be used in a BBRight frame.

Unless the chainrings are the wrong size he'd probably be better off using the Rotor crank, at least until the bearings need to be replaced.

Here are two options. I have had good results with the Wheels Manufacturing units an like that left and right sides thread together for a secure fit.
